February 21
Deuteronomy 26:8-10a – “…The LORD brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm, with a terrifying display of power, and with signs and wonders; and he brought is into this place and gave us this land, a land flowing with milk and honey. So now I bring the first of the fruit of the ground that you, O LORD, have given me.”
I remember little of the high school French I took, but I always liked the name for potatoes, pomme de terre, apple of the earth. My relationship with potatoes has not always been a healthy, portion-controlled one, but I remain thankful for them as they are one of my favorite foods. Thank God for your favorite fruit or vegetable today.
Prayer Creator God, thank you for providing us with an abundance of healthy and delicious food. AMEN.
