March 19
Luke 5:17-19 – But when [the younger son] came to himself he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired hands have bread enough and to spare, but here I am dying of hunger! I will get up and go to my father, and I will say to him, “Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you; I am no longer worthy to be called your son; treat me like one of your hired hands.”’
Who do you see when you look at the face staring back at you in the mirror? Not only are we asked to look at others through God’s lens, but we are also asked to look at ourselves in the same way. Before we can reconcile with God, we must first reconcile with ourselves.
Prayer Parent God, just as you call us to be gentle with one another, help me be more gentle with myself. AMEN.
