With your monthly gift, you’ll give medical care to a child in need. And once that child is helped, you can help another. And another.

- prevent life-long disabilities
- cure impairments
- lovingly assist kids with permanent disabilities
- give children the support, assistance and self-confidence to know they’re valued, beautiful, smart and winning
healinghugs give children a teddy bear that will:
- comfort them as they face doctors, needles and tough exercises
- join them on their journey of hope and healing
- be used as a tool for community health workers to teach exercises and give health tips
healinghugs give you, the supporter:
- the joy of giving preventative, medical and rehabilitative care for the child whose medical care you’re sponsoring
- a healinghugs bear (if desired) as a reminder of your support
- a photo of each child you help
- each child’s treatment plan and progress report

Meet a healinghugs supporter
Evelyn from Toronto, Ontario has a generous heart and is currently supporting her 17th healinghugs child.
She said, “I feel that God led me to give to healinghugs… I am now helping my 17th child. I keep all the pictures of the children, including their name, age, country they are from and disability.”

It costs $480 to provide life-changing medical care to a child in need.
82% of every dollar goes to our hope and healing work. In your case, 82% of your donation will go to your child’s healing treatment plan and their bear to hug.
While we understand the desire to send your care in words as well as through funding, there are a number of reasons why we’ve chosen not to offer this direct contact. First, we need to get as much of every dollar you give straight over to your child’s specialized medical care. Getting notes sent, matched, and translated requires administrative dollars as well as administrative time for our front-line field staff. We want to keep our community workers, doctors and physiotherapists focused on life-changing medical care and rehabilitation.
While you can’t write to your healinghugs child, you can send a note of encouragement to another child receiving body and heart healing care within the program.
Yes. We track your dollars from Canada to our medical partners in poorer countries. This partner might be a hospital or a mobile health clinic, or a community-based program bringing hope and healing to the children we serve. Then we track those dollars to the care of a single child — the child whose photo and name we send you.
While we understand the desire to go and visit the child whose care you’re sponsoring, there are a number of reasons we’ve chosen not to offer this direct contact.
First, we need to get as much of every dollar you give straight over to your child’s specialized medical care. Organizing visits and hosting these trips takes administrative dollars. It also takes hosting time for our front-line field staff. We want to keep our community workers, doctors and physiotherapists focused on life-changing medical care and rehabilitation.
The second reason behind our decision to limit contact is our desire to respect the privacy of all our healinghugs children and their families. We’ve made the commitment to all children in our care to guard their safety, keeping their location untraceable.
Definitely not. We serve all children who have a disability or who are at risk of a disability regardless of race, age, gender or religion. We do this because we believe all children deserve medical care.
We send out year-end tax receipts at the beginning of February for cumulative donations greater than $10.
