On the first Christmas morning, the angel of the Lord brought good news of great joy to the shepherds. God spoke through the angel, announcing the miraculous birth of Jesus. And today, God continues to speak to us!

That’s why Evelyn and her husband named their baby girl Rhema, meaning “God has spoken words.” They knew God had good plans for Rhema and would speak to her.

“We just want God’s plans to be fulfilled upon her.” – Rhema’s mom, Evelyn

But Evelyn’s hope began to waver when she found out her daughter had a cataract that made her blind in her left eye.

Evelyn first noticed her daughter had trouble seeing when Rhema was just a few months old. She told us, “Sometimes Rhema closed her eyes when she was in the light. We thought it was normal. Last year, we went to the central hospital for a checkup. They said she has a cataract.”

Rhema was referred for treatment. But her family was working hard to come up with the money to afford Rhema’s sight-saving care.

While they waited, Evelyn worried for her girl. “I was afraid that she would be blind permanently,” she told us.

But Christmas is a time for miracles. And God used a generous friend like you to bring good news to Rhema and her family through a healing hug!

Someone like you paid for Rhema’s cataract surgery and helped restore her sight.

Thank you for reminding Rhema’s family that God is working and has good plans in store for their girl.

“There is a great improvement with her sight. I appreciate the help that was given to my child. May God continue blessing them. We don’t take it for granted.Evelyn

Now Rhema can have a brighter future, full of sight – all thanks to someone like YOU who gave her a Christmas miracle through a healing hug!
