Kenward’s Story

Vision for the Future

Kenward

Kenward is a bright boy who loves to learn and play with his friends. Then one day, the sight in his left eye began to blur and fade.

His grandma noticed a problem with his left eye. Slowly but surely, Kenward’s vision was getting worse. Before long, he could barely read the blackboard during class.

“He used to go to school on a daily basis… but with the eye problem, at one point, he completely stopped going to school because he was not able to see the board correctly,” explained his grandma.

Thankfully, medical staff from Hope and Healing International’s partner hospital in Malawi came to Kenward’s school to provide eye screenings. They discovered Kenward had a cataract in his left eye that was making his vision cloudy and out of focus. He needed to go to the hospital for surgery to restore his sight.

Kenward’s grandma knew she couldn’t afford the surgery he needed. She had other children to care for and no way to generate income.

Then, a generous supporter like you stepped in and paid for Kenward’s surgery. Now, he can see the world clearly again!

Now I will be going back to school without worrying about my eye anymore. I greatly appreciate your help. My worry was that I will never be able to see with the left eye again.
